Sell me on a new 627PC 2.6"
I love revolvers and carry my j frame and k frames regularly.
I recently ran my k frame in a 4 day defensive class and out performed about 35 semi autos and bringing home a distinguished graduate certificate. Never even got close to shooting/performing a 93% on the kills test with any of my semi's.
I did however realize that more capacity and moon clips would make life as a revolver guy even more efficient.
Enter the 627 performance center offering with the 2.6" bbl. should be a fantastic (albeit heavy) carry piece if it's riding high and OWB. At 35 oz it should be easy peasy shooting even stout .357 loads.
What's to like? What's not to like? Tell me about em. Sell me on one or something else....I'm not super interested in a TRR8 or a v comp or 5" 627 because of the longer barrels being less preferable for carry in my mind.
My dream handgun for a long time has been an FN FNX-45 Tactical but considering I have learned my new skills and performance with wheel guns that may get bumped in favor of a 627 PC.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions!? Go!!!

Don't know what I can say to convince you, because for me it was an impulse buy based on aesthetics and coolness. However, I have come to genuinely love the way it shoots, its smooth trigger, 8 shots, and ease to comfortably ccw.

I have a 5" but it's one of my favorite revolvers. The action is great. It takes moonclips or shoots without them.
I'd like to get a 2.6" but I'm leaning towards a 460 XVR in a short barrel.

The lighter 8 shot revolvers, the 327s, also come in snub nosed versions. Those will be lighter to carry than the 627pc but of course a little difficult to shoot. Just a thought/suggestion.

lol same for me. I was browsing one night, saw one and was instantly "oooooh" and it was purchased.
I love the look and finish of the gun. The trigger is a bit heavy still for me in DA but in SA it is freaky light.
Some may find it a bit heavy for carry but I did purchase it to carry. I used to lug around a gov size 1911 so weight on this won't be an issue for me.

Exactly! For anyone who CCWs a govt size 1911 this a piece of cake, the 7 shot 686 is only a couple ounces lighter than the 627. No brainer. If you have a good holster and belt, you won't know you're carrying it.

First of all thank you for your replies. Good info and good words.
Secondly...ugh. Destiny reared its head! I happened into a CRAZY good deal on a nearly new FNX-45 and couldn't say no. This ate up my current 'play' money and unless I decide I don't like it and then sell it, I'm gonna have to wait another long while for the 627
It's hard to argue with 15+1 rounds of .45acp...

Sometimes man & machine don't meld well. Good luck w/ the 627; provide a range report when you can

Groo here
As you have a 45acp anyway, get an M-325 Thunder Ranch.
Light, Big bore, Moon clips that work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shoots better than you.
PS found someone who will make a holster for the light rail!.
Info to follow after testing.

That's too bad about the FNX. If you don't mind me asking, what did you not like about it?

I'm not sure what his reply will be...but I had a FNX 9, and I didn't like it either. I had it for a year or so and landed p trading it off.
My issue? I'm not 100% sure, to be exact. Maybe it was the fact that I couldn't ever really get any good with the thing. I had a SA XD and a XDm and my accuracy with those two was always far better, no matter how much time I spent with the FNX, especially with double tap followup shots.

I want to make it clear that the FNX is a fine pistol. I never once had an issue with the fella, it just wasn't ever my cup o tea.
Funny enough, there's a guy on another forum I'm on that is selling a FNX9 LE edition...that he bought a few months ago. He can't fully explain what his issue with it is either, he just doesn't like it.
