Default Cocobolo Ahrends

I had posted a WTB ad for some N or K frame, Square Butt, Finger groove, Ahrends grips in Cocobolo last year. Since they don't sell them in Cocobolo, everyone must be keeping what they had. I also had been keeping an eye out on ebay with no luck either. Finally, last week, I found a pair on ebay and snapped them up. I really like the way they feel and this pair also has some nice grain. Here they are on my 66-2:

My favorite grips, the Tactical Fingergroove.

I have always liked they way Ahrends grips look but they need a bit more meat side to side for my taste. I like a wide butt, so to speak, in my palm.

Looks great.

I was lucky enough to get a pair before they stopped using cocobolo. Love 'em.

I have the same grips on my 617, 4". I think they were made near the end of Ahrends being able to use cocobolo. They look and feel great.

Default beautiful

I really like the 66's!
I couldn't help but notice that your 66-2 has a pinned barrel. Transition gun I guess?
Great looking stocks. I often wonder how they compare in size to the target grips. They're sure pretty.

You are very perceptive. It is a transitional gun.

Looks like cocobolo is banned from harvesting and import. Google Gibson Guitar Co. getting raided by the feds. OOPS!. In fact, I just ordered a set of Ahrends for my 586. They have a quip on there about Cocobolo saying they don't want to be Gibson Guitars so don't even think about sending them a chunk of Cocobolo. They flat won't touch any of it.

Default Looking for those

Need those grips to complete my 686 Stocking Dealers Special that I bought used with rubber grips. Don't know how I missed those on ebay. Spoke to Abrends, yes they wouldnt take my piece of cocobolo. I might have to take a substitute.

I bought a 28-2 from an old timer a couple of years ago. The grips look to be cocabolla, how much are the grips worth. Ball park figure I would never sell them just curious and the gun dates back to 1956.
Thanks Kevin
