I'm wanting to start collecting K frames. I prefer the round butt variety. While cruzing down Gunbroker Lane for M10s, so many have rubber grips, a person has a hard time determining which are RB or SB. Of course, the sellers don't specify. Or is this a case of very few pre lock M10s are RB? Just wondering if a person can determine if a particular gun with rubber grips can be determined to be RB by only a pic.
Round butt pre-lock guns exist, more commonly found on 2" barrel versions. My 4" 10-5 at the top of this photo is from the mid 1960's. People tend to hold onto these.
If the back strap is exposed on a round-to-square conversion grip, you can see where the back strap "disappears" into the grip. This applies to both rubber and wood grips.
