Default 69 snubby by arrived today!

Ordered a M69 2 3/4" last week from buds, picked it up late today! Fit and finish is great, timing perfect, no end play when cocked, barely any hammer down, bc looks tight but will measure later.
I like the finish, and the two tone look of the screws and hammer, trigger and cyl release, grips feel ok,will shoot tomorrow. I cast and reload and don't do it to make hand cannons. I shoot mostly 44spl and mild mag. Tomorrow I will shoot my 629-4 3" the 69 and my CA bulldog 44spl for a comparison.
So far I really like it and glad I bought it.

Your gonna' love that 69 as a handloader. So far I've only done loads with one bullet and powder. So much more to play with!

Looks like a great pick up! I'm looking forward to a range report as well, especially with any handload info you are willing to share.

The top gun of the 3 pictured in the photo looks the best.

My 3 44s:
629-3 MG(1993)
696-0(1996)
21-4(2007) nickle

I just got my 2.75" 66-8 and love it. I'm even getting used to the black accents.

I like the top gun the best as well. I recently picked up a snubby 69 and cannot get use to the two tone and am seriously thinking about selling it before even shooting it,as all I want to do is take it apart and "fix" the looks. Yes,pathetic..but I can't help how I feel. Maybe some range time will change my outlook..

Nice group of guns! I think the 69 is the best looking, it makes the 629 look "Rugerish" in comparison.

Nice lookin' revolver, save for that 'lil 'ol black hole on the left side. I've got an early '90s (29-2?) special run - 3-incher from one of the big SW Distributors out there. Fun to shoot w/.44 Specials, a real cannon w/.44 Mag loads....

Hello, it's been raining here in central Florida most of the afternoon, but I did manage to put a couple of hundred rounds total through all three guns. I put about a 100 of 44 spl down range (no pic because of the weather) the bulldog is the easiest to carry and least accurate (da). The 69 gave a 2" group sa @ 30', it was 3"low and 1" to the right. The 69 and 629 were very close on recoil, I like the 69 grips, probably won't change, my 240 swc with 10gr of unique and 50 rounds was all I wanted to shoot and they were the most accurate. I had almost no leading and easy cleanup. FYI whoever tightened the elevation screw all the way down must be part gorilla, I was lucky it didn't break loosening it!

The view from behind the M69 will help you forget about it.

Doesn't bother me.

I love my 69 snub. It's perfect. Like it was built for me. The b/c gap on mine measured.004. Locks up great. Very well made. The only thing I changed was the rear sight to a white outline. And the rubber stocks to wood.

A question for you fellow 69 owners, I noticed about 1" from the cylinder end of the barrel a circle inside, it goes goes all the way around in both the lands and grooves! Mine is honed well and very shiny, I did have to remove the burr where the barrel should have been crowned, it looked like it could cut you if you rubbed your finger on it. Is mine the only one ya think?
Thanks

Mine had what I called a burr but it was not sharp. It looked like metal bulged out during the rifling process. I did not like the way it looked but it did not hurt accuracy in any way. I had the barrel recrowned when the gun was back at the factory for other reasons and while it looks better it is still not perfect. It doesn't bother me enough to buy the right tool to fix it.

If want to read about of bunch of us whining about the crowns on our guns and see some pictures go to Crown looks like ****? .

Mine does not have that "circle inside". Not sure what that could be. Mine did have the burr on the muzzle though.

That burr is caused by the tool that inserts into the bore/grooves of the muzzle to tighten the (two-piece) barrel. I used my 45 degree crown chamfer cutter & lapping tool to smooth mine out (above).
