Very sweet. I wouldn't have any remorse about that purchase either.
Congratulations on finding one.

She sure is purdy. You gonna spill the beans about how much you paid? You get no judgment from me. I always seem to pay a bit too much for guns. People show all these deals they get and I'm like, huh????

It's S&W 3" K frame perfection. If you are happy (and you will be) then it doesn't matter what you paid.
I paid for mine and never looked back.

I paid $1,000 shipped to my FFL.
I watched GB for a while, and the shape and price the regular 65 3" were going for...I have zero regrets.
From the pics it looks to have not had over a box max shot thru it. Plus I'm guessing the Lady Smith is worth a tab bit more than a regular 3" 65?
I'm happy and looking forward to picking it up tomorrow, that's all that matters.

Price sounds consistent with what I've seen recently. They're not cheap, but you have one of the finest carry revolvers money can buy.

One thing I like about yours is the grooves on the front & back strap. I don't think all 65-5 LS came that way. Good score.

I really liked that too. It matches my 2.5" 66-1.

I hear that. I know I paid a premium price, but to me it's a premium gun. I bought it to keep, so I'm not worried about ever loosing money on it.
Only Smith left I really really need is a 63 3" or shorter. Well I kinda need a 3" 64 and 66 too now that I think about it.

I've looked at quite a few of these and I don't recall seeing these grooves before-- maybe I just missed them IDK, but I think they definitely add a touch of class. Plus yours has the wonderful/contrasting case-colored H/T, mostly I see flashchromed.
You did not overpay wood714. Sure it would've been nice to have paid less but finding one w/ the box is rare. Mostly I just see the soft cases. And the condition of your gun is pristine.
10 days ago I had two of these, I just sold my spare on auction for a grand, plus shipping. Had the fellow who purchased it not done so there was another guy, who emailed me about local pickup, who was planning to step in at the end of the auction. My gun was in great shape, but not as pristine as yours. And it had the soft case only.
You got it for a fair price in my book, congrats.

For the record I bought it off a 12 year member here. He's selling off a lot of his collection.
He said when he was boxing it up to ship it was like losing a family member. I assured him it was going to a good home, and would have a lot of Smith company in my safe.

Great find! Just to make you feel better, I looked at my recent acquired 65-5 3" and noticed it's faults, not a nice wide smooth trigger and case harden hammer like yours, and full barrel shroud like yours. Mine has the flash chrome narrow serrated trigger and narrow hammer. And NO serrations on the grip, front or back. You did well in many ways my friend!

Thank you. I really like the finish on yours best, but know it would kill the value of mine if I polished her up.
I'd really like too thou.

Very nice LS you have there. Just curious if it came with the soft, Bob Allen bag? My LS and yours are pretty close in serial numbers with mine just a bit older CCE09XX, 1997 I think. Yours, I believe is the 50th day of 1998. The only difference is mine has Rosewood magna grips. Enjoy that Lady.

Very nice Ladysmith. I'm in the same situation, I won the auction for a 3" K frame and it's at my FFL for pick-up.
The 547 is not as pristine as your 65 but it is rather rare, being chambered in 9mm. I plan to use it as a carry gun so it will be holstered and shot quite a bit.
Auction price was $1550 but I gladly paid that and would have gone higher. Another 547 went for $2280, I dropped out of that one at $2k.
I can't wait to get the 547 in hand to confirm it's condition.

9mm K frame 547
The gun came in and it's condition exceeded my expectations.
I put the Pachmayr compact grips on it for concealment carry. It's companion piece and backup is also a LadySmith 9mm:

Hello, wood714, nice lady's you have, was the second lady smith the one on central Florida. Gun trader for $900? I was eyeing it myself. I to like the 3" k frames, this year I have acquired a 3" 64-1 and a 3" 65-5, and recently the 2 3/4" 69. If it was me I'd keep the ladies natural and get a 65 for a polish job as mine have. FYI I like the 64-1 3" better the the 65.
Good luck with your new ladies

One I saw was on Armslist.
I have a WTB 3" 64 or 65 ad on FGT Central.
Got 2 65's would actually rather have a 3" 64.

I paid $900 for a M65 3" round butt, unfired in box and shoot ,CCW it. $1000 is what you pay for a well made wheelgun that is not made anymore. I bought a new old 1987 M64 4" H.B. for $700 . Which is what new lock version sells for.a fair price for the best!

If he is anything like me, I would much prefer a stainless handgun as a carry piece, instead of a blued handgun.
Having said that, if it's a blued gun that I'm buying to fill some "holes in my wish list", that's fine, those might get shot , but will not be carried, at least by me.

Hay, I saw your WTB on my daily web check, same pic! I have ended up with several 4" myself, 13-1,65-1, but I like the 3" better. Can't afford a 66 in 3" but I enjoy my 64-1 3" and 65-5 3". I think your 65-5 lady smith has a lot more advantages than a regular 65. (As per a previous post). Did you get a second lady?
If so you are wat toooo lucky. If I hear of a 64 or 65 in central Florida. I'll contact you. Your not that far from me as the crow flies. Take good care of the ladies!

Neat 65-5, The serrated tangs made me pull my 65-5 from the safe to compare, next went to the SCSW as it did not make sense...at first.
Mine is a bit earlier with the older style cylinder release , flash chromed hammer trigger, smooth tangs and came with the burgundy soft case.
According to the SCSW the Model 65 LS was produced 1991 - 2004.
1994 new extractor system,
1996 serrated tangs for a "Short period" (estimated at 18 months).
1997 change thumbpiece/ship with Master lock change to MIM trigger.
1998 65-6 new frame with floating firing pin change internal lockworks etc.
BTW OEM stocks would have been like Harris Mashers above

The dude that had the one on Armslist never would reply back. He finally did today around 11:30, and I picked her up at 1:30.
He came down to $775 and I couldn't pass it up. It has a tiny bit more of a turn line than the first one, but other than that is too nice.
It's a 65-5 like my other one, but came with the bag and doesn't have the groves in the front or back strap. The trigger and hammer are also no the same finish. I guess it's older, it has a BPL22** serial number and my first one is CCN46**
I was in the market for a regular 65 3". I'm probably going to polish this one. I might would trade it for a minty 65-5 or older 3" or a 3"66.
Just a cell phone pic when I bought it.

Oh no, don't do that. Keep looking for a plain 65 3". It looks way too nice to polish. Just my opinion.

Great find!!!!! Good job for The little lady. I would like a 3" lady myself! But I think I'm in the same boat as you, 3" SW are few and far between, and I can't get enough of them. Btw a 3" 629-4 followed home last year! If you ever trade a lady PM me, I might have a smith you can't live without lol. The newest is a 2 3/4" mod 69.
Good hunting

Mine is a bit earlier with the older style cylinder release , flash chromed hammer trigger, smooth tangs and came with the burgundy soft case.
According to the SCSW the Model 65 LS was produced 1991 - 2004.
1994 new extractor system,
1996 serrated tangs for a "Short period" (estimated at 18 months).
1997 change thumbpiece/ship with Master lock change to MIM trigger.
1998 65-6 new frame with floating firing pin change internal lockworks etc.
BTW OEM stocks would have been like Harris Mashers above

I've seen a few with stocks like my first one. I don't know that much about the LS's, but are you sure their not original?

I have seen the stocks in your 1st post on the later production ones also. IMO they're original.

I have a LS -6 that has the exact same grips as yours. I know mine are original to the gun because it came in a fitted suitcase style burgundy color case marked Ladysmith. It is not the soft case. I paid about a grand for mine 4 or 5 years ago on GB which at the time was too much but I was tired of getting outbid on other ones.
Not mine but just like this. The picture is actually forum member Messer's

She is beautiful. Got mine within the past year as well. Not as pristine as yours but I was thrilled just to find one in a LGS. I still laugh at how the whole transaction went down. Enjoy it. I will NEVER part with either of my 65s.
