Default How do you store your spare grips

I was wondering how you all store your grips. I know some folks just have a few extra sets and some have a bunch of extra sets. I know some of you collect grips. So I am wondering what is a good way to store them with out damaging them and not taking up to much space. Currently this is what I am doing, but I need something better. I may even need something two grips worth in height to fit in the safe better. So what do you do???

The best way to store grips is to buy guns for all of them. It is best to be stored on a real frame to prevent warpage and to keep them from falling over. No need to put them in a safe unless on a real gun.

They are tossed in a drawer above the drawer with all the spare holsters.

Do you mean all those fancy grips made out of extremely exotic hardwoods or unborn linoleum?
Mine lie in a box in the corner while the really useful Hogue rubber grips that actually allow me to shoot accurately, get frequent trips to the range.

In zip lock bags, in a box in my gun room. The real nice ones get wrapped in bubble wrap before going into the zip lock bag. Works for me!

If I've taken the original grips off of a gun and I have the box for the gun I put the grips in the box. If not, they generally go together into a larger box. If I've replaced grips that are numbered to a gun, I'll tag the grips so I know which gun they go with.

But I don't collect grips, I try to find grips that fit my hands better and make the gun more shootable.

In a box, in the closet.

If the gun came with box, and I've replaced the grips that came with the gun, then I store the original grips in the original box.

In the closet, with the box of other grips.

Right next to the box of holsters.....

I have mine lined up on a shelf of an old piece of furniture. That way I can look at or ogle them!

Baggied in a box works to a point but I'll be moving a couple large chests of drawers into my den this summer so I can finally begin storing grips and holsters properly.

My holsters I intend to keep are in plastic storage bins, one for each barrel length range and one for crossdraw. The rest are in a cardboard box marked "inactive holsters" and right beside my inactive grips box. I have them on a high enough shelf that I am not often reminded of the dead investment. Yes, I should post some of it for sale. There is also a holster discard box on the back porch, and some day they will make the trip to the dump. Many of the stored keeper grips are the originals for guns that might get sold someday.

Well, there's picture takin' and BBQ grips. Then there's the shootin' grips which are usually rubbers.

I keep mine in zip lock bags, with the screws removed and placed in a piece of blue painter's tape folded over so they don't scratch the stocks. I use an adhesive label on the outside of the bag with the description, serial # or other pertinent info written in. And I store them all in one of those commemorative wooden ammo boxes with a hinged lid. I call it my box o'stocks.

Is it because they are rubber or because they are a relatively cheap solution? Custom fitted Herrett's come to mind.

I keep my targets in old (clean) ankle socks, and my Magna'sin eye glass cases, the ones that flip open from the middle, with a label iding the frame and serial number if required. Works for me.

I repurpose wooden jewelry boxes, including redoing the lining with felt to compliment the stocks displayed inside. My little collection is spread out in about three boxes right now.

I use quart freezer bags. Wrap the grips in paper towels then into the bag and magic marker on the outside telling me what's inside. Frank

I have had many socks get holes in the heels. Cut them off at the hole, and BINGO! Use the toe end for stocks. Great protection. Bob

Default Sterilite cabinet works great.

I use this Sterilite 3 drawer cabinet to store my extra grips. Can be found at wally world.

Sterilite(R) Wide 3 Drawer Unit with White Frame - 14-5/8" L x 14-1/2" W x 10-5/8" H | U.S. Plastic Corp.

Grips in baggies and labeled then into the proper drawer. K/L in one drawer and N in a second and odds and ends in the third. JA

Somewhat like yourself. I put them in zip lock bags along with a slip of paper of which firearm they came off of including the serial number occasionally as I have and use pairs of some. From there they go into a large wooden box with the others.

I can't say as I collect grips but unless the firearm itself is a collectable, I'll normally (all except three) switch grips out. I keep the ones I remove as a just in case if I ever sell one and the new owner wants all original parts or I pass them on to the kids to do as they wish.

Do you mean all those fancy grips made out of extremely exotic hardwoods or unborn linoleum?
Mine lie in a box in the corner while the really useful Hogue rubber grips that actually allow me to shoot accurately, get frequent trips to the range.
I must be doing it backward, I put the rubber grips in the drawer and take the wood grips to the range. Be happy to make a trade with you for all those useless hardwoods

I have a plastic ammo can-type box that I keep my least-used accessories in (extra grips, leather gear, etc.). I also have a small dessicant pack in the box.
