That revolver is a 686 +, not an N frame. The quick way to tell whether a S&W revolver has an even or odd number of chambers is whether the cylinder stop cuts align with chambers or flutes. They are between the chambers on cylinders with an odd number of chambers like that 7 shot L frame.
I probably should know that. Thank you. I am in the market for a 629 5" or 6.5" full under lug, very soon. I was looking at the deluxe model but I heard the wood grips that it comes with are a bit narrow. May go with the standard rubber and hunt for exotic wood.
OR, they could be KSD grips - which were beautifully made Turkish knock-offs of the Nill's grips, for about half the price. These particular grips (Big Butts) are no longer shown on the KSD website. A cease & desist from Nill's me thinks?
