So - the new 48-7 made it home,and went out to the range this morning to see what it's dietary needs might be.



Firstly, the SA pull was sublime - 2.5 to 3 lbs felt (will check later with gauge) and accuracy was nice. The CCI "Chute 'Em" ammo was not as good as the Hornady V-Max, and the CCI Maxi-Mags just, well, just didn't, really - so no target for them.






The flyer on the Hornady was from the guy in the next lane popping one off when I wasn't expecting it (honestly!!), and while I would LOVE to say the centre group on the Chute'Ems was one cylinder, you have to know I'd have stopped right there....

I think the Hornadys win, but I fear I will have to go to the range repeatedly to make sure.

All targets standing, 2-handed, 10 yards, SA only.

M48 is till on my list. You have a nice one. I love the stocks on it.

Nice pick up! I have been tempted to buy one in the past but always had something else higher on the most wanted list. How's the DA trigger pull?

Don't know yet. Will find the gauge soon....

I have a 48-4 that is one of my favorite guns, though it is also my most needy gun cleaning wise. I have to clean it out at the range after a few cylinders fired as the casings will get stuck.

Yup - I found a nylon brush was just perfect - run the cylinder through every now and again and all was well.

Wife brought home some out-of-date giant Q-tips from work (not considered sterile any more, but still wrapped) so I'm going to see if those are man enough for the job next time.
