29-4 Classic Hunter 8-3/8" Unfluted 44 Magnum
I traded into 2 guns today from the original owner. They were this 29-4 Classic Hunter LNIB and a 29-5 Classic Magnum II LNIB (which I'll introduce in another thread when I have time)
Paperwork and tools were in the box. Product code 101254 - 2500 mfd. in 1989. Grips are original and will stay on for shooting, fancy ones to come.
Its had about a box of ammo through it, the blueing is mint and deep. I hope the sun helps showcase the finish. I cant wait to shoot this. The 8-3/8 barrel and unfluted cylinder look gorgeous.
The other gun is the 7-1/2" Classic Magnum II. Its in similar condition with the box. Just as clean as this one. I couldn't resist both. I'll share it in another thread.
Here are some pics

That's a gorgeous gun. I think 8 3/8 inches is such a great length for 44 magnum. Here is mine, a more recent version, also unfluted cylinder, but fluted barrel. I think you will really enjoy your new guns.

That is one gorgeous gun. The 8 3/8" tube is perfect for the 44 mag. Nice snag & can't wait to see the other hog leg!!!

Beautiful gun SVT.. Been shooting a 8 3/8'' dash 4 a bit recently myself..
This past Sat in Patrick SC l ran SEVEN pigs in a ROW shooting IHMSA sillywetts with it.
l think the reason for its accuracy are my ''SCENTED BOOLITS''

I have a 629-2 which I understand is made the same as a 29-4 (or so I've read - I can't vouch for that). Mine is also the 8 3/8" barrel model with unfluted cylinder and full underlug. It's really good to see so many people here praising the 8 inch barrels. I love mine and I think the extra power it gets from the longer barrel not to mention the longer sight radius makes for a great shooting handgun. It also helps tame barrel flip. Too many people knock the long barrels IMO. I think they're great. And you have a beautiful example. Mine was about as clean as yours when I first bought it. It had only been shot maybe 10 times I understand. It didn't have powder residue in the nooks and crannies so I know it wasn't shot very much. I think it is a truly great handgun and one I'll be keeping until it gets passed down to my children.
