Default Model 10-10 markings....

Hi all,

Another Model 10-10 marking question. I assume this is a 1988 series gun (it's marked 10-10 model)

This one has a nice "CDC" mark on the frame, assuming that means California Dept of Corrections, looks like all the other ones I've seen.

On the other side, electrostenciled not so nicely is "IWSP R0087" or some such.
Any idea what that means?

The only thing I could find that was abbreviated IWSP is
INSTITUTIONAL WORKER SUPERVISION PAY

I've only had sloppy etched letters and numbers on foreign surplus imports or confiscated arms later released for sale. As precaution, I always entered both sets in my records book.

I like "Irregular Warfare Support Program" better.

But seriously, it could be someone's registration or security badge number and the letters may not mean anything. Probably the only way to ascertain the meaning would be to find someone who worked for CDC when these were issued and recognizes the pattern of the letter-number sequence.

"CDC" means, 'Center for Disease Control'.

I have seen a few Model 10's & 64's, some had other numbers ( badge #'s ) some with acronyms & numbers, I have not been able to find out what they meant. When it gets booked I only use the factory stamped SN #, since I have no way of know what the other means. I also believe ATF would only be interested in the factory number, the electric pencil can be manipulated. Be Safe,

BINGO!! Give this man a cupie doll!
It would control disease on an individual basis, depending on the "judicious" administration of "doses".
