I had one of those 3" FBI guns with the factory combats on it, good looking & nice gun to pack but could not get that gun to shoot. Never did try the round to square conversion grips.

The Grip Police will probably throw up or ban us, but confidentially a set of Pachmayr Pro Grippers looks like heck on my 3" RB model 65, but it fits my hand perfectly and shoots where I look. I had no luck with the round shape of the Hogues. YMMV
There must be some pretty wood conversion grips around that work too.

Well, here is my wife's 3 inch 65-5 Ladysmith with a really nice set of Mustang square butt conversions - essentially the same gun without adjustable rear sights.
I have a 66-2 3 inch with a Tyler T grip that will remain stock.

Craig Spegel handfitted these RB2SB MacEbonies on my 3" 66-3. I asked him to cut them THICK (he'll make them however you want w/ the custom-fit option)-- they're a HandFull:

Not a 3". These Herrett round butts feel really good to me. I tried the grip adapter on a few guns. Does not work for me. Good luck on your hunt! Bob
