Not for sale or trade.Just trying to determine the current $ value for insurance purposes of my like new S&W 629-4 classic 5" 44 mag.No box or papers.Thanks

If you had to replace it, you would likely need to go to GBroker. On there I would expect to pay $1000-1100ish to get it.

Nice piece you have there. I sure hope you never need to use the insurance for it.

As suggested, go to GunBroker and see what they are going for. Look on the right side of your bbl and if it says Classic DX, then it is worth more. It is my understanding that the DX models were more accurate, as assembled from the factory, than the standard Classic, and the DX's came with a set of interchangeable front sight inserts, and the paper target that demonstrated the accuracy. At least both of my 629-3 Classic DX's 5" did! There was also a set of wood grips that came with the Classic DX.

Also, the 5" Classic DX was only made for one year, 1994, thus adding to that version's value.
