Default A Model 27 in L Frame...

The Model 27 N-frame is a great classic.

But everyone I own, owned is always a bit too big for me to handle as well as I'd like.

The revolver I wish, wished, Smith had built was
an L-frame with all the contours of the Model 27, the
tapered barrel with sculpted ejector shroud, no underlug.

My all time favorite Smith revolver has been the Combat Masterpiece.
That's the gun I also want but in the L-frame.

It would be a true masterpiece. But too late. No chance.

You mean like a 686 Mountain Gun.

I mean blue. Sorry I didn't specify.

Also, wasn't the Mountain Gun just in 4 inches and not all
that available in other barrel lengths?

If I recall correctly, the 686 just never looked "refined."

The 620 is close except for the non-tapered barrel and the fact that it's stainless.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Yeah you're right, no chance S&W produces something like that. If they were going to, it would have been early in the L frame lifecycle.

You could get a 586 in good shape and have someone with real skills customize the barrel and re-blue.

Yes 4" only.. I have a 629-5 MG and I think the finish is clean and well done.

Refined.. compared to the regular offerings it seems ..yes..
