Default 66-2 2 1/2"

Just picked this up from a consignment at the LGS, very clean 66-2, $650. I went right to the range and shot 50 .38 Specials through it and it hits to point of aim, and didn't blow up in my hand so I'm happy. I'll use this till my 66-8 gets back from warranty service and then I think it'll go in the vault as an investment. I'd like better grips, rubber that covers the back strap. Gotta jump online and see what's out there. What grips came with these originally?

What IS it with you guys finding all these deals at your LGS and pawn shops?!? Really nice, that looks like an outstanding specimen.

Nice find! It would have had walnut Magna or service stocks. Enjoy!

Congratulations! I bought a -2 (2.5") in March. Asking price was $795. Got it for $725 OTD. Sure like the feel, and the way it shoots. It now wears Herrett RB Targets.Bob

While 66-2 2.5" shipped with standard RB magnas with silver washers I find the factory checkered RB Target stocks with silver washers to be best fit for me on the 2.5" and 3".

Probably didn't leave the factory with these, but they came with the gun when I bought it and I like them a lot - OK, I bought the gun to get the grips!

Oh Hell, that ain't nothing. I recently bought a new gun, as I had purchased a holster to fit it the day before

I have an identical model that is my favorite carry piece. Shoots just like a full size gun, unlike a J frame. I'm still searching for the "just right" stocks. It may turn out the Pachmayer grips that came on the gun fit the best. They just are not aesthetically pleasing.

I like the look of those stocks. I immediately found a set on a well known auction website listed for a mere $250+shipping. Ye Gads!

Nice 66 snub OP!

A great rubber grip that covers the backstrap and feels great is the Uncle Mike's combat grip. They came stock on some S&W's from the factory. They are out of production but are rather easily found on Ebay and Gunbroker if you really want one.

These are 3" 65's with the Uncle Mike's grips. It would be great on your 66 as well.
