Grail gun found: 610-2 10mm 4"
Finally, my hunt is over. I've been dabbling a lot with N Frames lately particularly ones without flutes. The reason why the bug bit was because years ago, when I got my 1076, I started looking into 10mm revolvers. I always thought of the 2001 610-2 in 4 inch unfluted cylinder configuration as my dream gun. Its sparked an interest that finally took hold as of late with some of my recent acquisitions.
Locally, this gun popped up for a smoking price but I inquired about trades. The gentleman mentioned Berettas and Smith 9mm's. I had an older 92S in good shape and I had duplicate 639's, so I offered one of the 639s and the 92S for a straight trade and we struck a time and place to do the deal.
Upon meeting, I noticed that other than it being really really dirty, it was in great mechanical condition. The prior owner had Frank Glenn, a local gunsmith, do a full trigger job and had the front sight replaced. From some of my research, it seems like Frank is a well known gunsmith in state of AZ. The double action trigger is the nicest I've ever experienced. I hope he is still in business! It came with wood hogues which I've moved to my 5 inch 625-2 and have tossed the Badgers on this 610. The balance is nice, but I might change them up for something else sooner that later. I don't typically trade guns but this was a deal I couldn't refuse. It also came with a demooner and about 50 moonclips which was a nice little extra. Unfortunately no box. As always here are some pics.

Boy Howdy! That's a sweetheart!! If that did indeed belong to a well known 'smith I can only imagine what the trigger feels like. Congrats & happy shootin'!

Sweet!!!! Great catch. And you made out well on the trade (I had to trade a 3" CS1 to get one exactly like yours). Enjoy.

He was a big deal in the '90s as a shooting competitor, winning the Masters championships in '92 and '97.

Very nice. I like the unfluted cylinder. I've got a 610 no dash and I can't install unfluted on mine(I tried). Seems they are only available on the dash 1 and newer. Now I'm going to have to go find one

I was just going to click on the 'Like' button and leave my name but this gun is worthy of a visit
I didn't know such a gun existed, and my ohhhhhh my that is a beauty! Love the overall balanced look and heft of it and the front sight. Lucky you to already have the works of Frank Glenn in place!
Enjoy it I am most envious!

You know, that REALLY IS a nice piece! I think 10mm might actually be better in a wheel gun - then an auto. Hate shaggin' brass.
The Badger boots set it off nicely, too. Been looking around for a RB/K set - for my 3" 65-3, but no luck yet...

Thanks everyone. I thought it was a good trade as well, not many of these are out there so when the deal came together I felt like a million bucks. The Cinderella part of this story has to be the Milt Sparks holster below. I found this one for $20 in the lot I bought a few weeks ago labeled for a M29 4inch. Until yesterday, I didn't have a 4 inch N frame...
After a night with the 610 in a freezer bag in the holster, the revolver now draws and reholsters nicely. I think I'm ready for the BBQ now, but unfortunately its 120+ degrees in AZ
