New Gun: S&W .460 XVR Performance Center
Just picked up my new .460 Hi Viz 7.5" bbl Performace Center earlier today. Totally in love with it. It's my first Performance Center gun & first X-Frame. Thanks to suggestions from Ruggyh & Road Clam including a few others on this forum I decided to go the .460 route. Couldn't be happier. I got some Hornady 200 grain & Buffalo Bore 360 grain pills to try at the range. Will report back after my first outing at the range with it!

If I was going to go up the ladder from 44 mag, and I think about doing so sometimes, it would be the 460 for me for sure. Nothing against the 500, I just know that 460 is the right gun for my purposes, in that direction. Glad you got a good one and are posting pleased. Look forward to range report. That's a hell of a lot of gun. Congrats.

That was my thinking too going up from .44 Mag. Will probably add a .500 to the stable in the future though. The .460 will cover everything I'm looking for in a revolver though pretty much. I haven't shot it yet but I'm fairly certain you'd enjoy any .460 Mag. Even moreso a PC model. Thank you though, will definitely report back how my first time out with it goes

The appeal for me is that it's FAST and FLAT. So, think hunting. I can't remember what you're primary intended purpose was. Not that it matters much. And not that a 5 hundo can't deliver same/similar. I also like its versatility with 45 long. Maybe it's just a difference between dropping Cape Buffalo or Elephants. Lol. I just think the 460 is a nastier precision weapon. And if "wow factor" is involved with the decision, they say those 460's do surreal things. Really 'raise the roof' or make it fall off. Lol. Enjoy.

That's mine too. Hunting. & some range fun Yeah the versatility is lovely. Don't have to always shoot .460 Mag. Your thinking is similar to mine. I have no doubt the .460 will have plenty of wow factor & ability to "make the roof fall off"
