Default M29-10 need grip help

First post.

I have a 29-10 with narrow factory wood grips that I got fairly well priced and enjoy shooting it. Except the grips aren't very comfortable.

I also just bought a 686 no dash and I like the factory wood grips on this much better. They're thicker and more rounded compared to the 29-10.

Will older Model 29 wood grips work on the 29-10?

Thanks

Yes, any square butt grips will fit. I have old school s&w wood on a 4" 29-10. Makes it much more usable. The Altamont grips it comes with are utterly worthless.

Default 29-10 Grips

Grips that come on it are thin. Bought some original wood lGoncalo Alves, better. Got a pair since I traded it. Want em? Cheap at $100. Bought a 19-4 in 1970, Goncalo Alves, no
grain at all, but you didn't
se 19's in those days. Beautiful blue, listed as bright blue
in the catalog. Still have 4" barrel for it, got 6" mounted at the factory. Lived 20 miles away at the time.

Default 29-10 Grip

BTW, if you can live with rubber, Pachmyer or Hogue. I refuse! Wood goes with blue! Get over it

I have a fancy wood Hogue monogrip on my 6.5 inch 29-10 and love it. The older factory target grips are a bit blocky feeling to me.
The Hogue wood I prefer is the top finger groove or no finger groove design. Checkered or un-checkered. No way will I ever put rubber on a blued revolver!!
