I Got my 69 back from SW TODAY! YEA KUDO's
I sent my new mod 69 back to SW 5 weeks ago last Friday, i.e. My post about a mysterious ring approximately 3/4" from the forcing cone. I examined it with a magnifying glass and kudos to SW for the great job they did, new barrel, shroud was aligned perfectly everything is now as a new SW should be,even the barrel crown is good ( the other barrel crown was terrible). Was going to put some lead down range today but we got about 2" of rain this evening. Tomorrow for sure! This mod. 69 is my 696 I could never acquired lol. Now my CA bulldog is jealous!

Good news! I was wondering whether you mentioned the previous poor crown job?

Great news!!! I sent mine back 5 weeks this Friday. Maybe I'll get it back next Monday. Mine did not have the chambers polished and all fired cases would stick. No matter what load. I could have bought a hone but decided to take advantage of the warranty.

I had the master Revolver action package done on my M69 and I like it even more now. Congrats on the happy outcome with yours.

Excellent news.
My 638 returned yesterday as well. I shipped it on June 6th. So just over one month. My brand new 638 seized up after only 100 rounds of factory ammo.
I just got back from the range with it and it seems to be good to go. I will fire a few more boxes before I carry it.
Smith seems to have done well by me.

Hello, Topsarge, yes I will put it in the EDC rotation, I've been cc my 686-4 2.5" in a pancake to get used to it, a bit heavy, but manageable with 2 leather 2x2x2 pouches. I normally pocket carry a CA 44 bulldog @ 19oz easy to carry, with 200gr hp 44spl.
The same load I carry in my mag. (629-4 3") no mag loads for edc in my opinion!

We are on the same page. I too carry a 686 2.5" in a pancake or a CA Bull Dog in my pocket with the same ammo. 200 gr jhp. I use the Speer Gold Dots. Same ammo I carry in my 629 3" and 624 3". I had an iwb made by Craft Holsters to carry a little more concealed, but the pancake is more comfortable with the N frames.

Great news and I'm happy for you.
Hopefully my 627 that comes back on Thursday will be as pleasing as your 69!

Might be time to send the Bulldog to the pound.
My 69 has been great so far, but I don't have a lot of rounds through it yet.
