all the great advice, suggestions, pictures, sharing of experiences, and your personal opinions. I'm a new member and I'm just amazed at how helpful you guys are and how you don't put anyone down for asking "stupid questions."
What a great place to learn and share - thank you all very much!
Best regards,

Rule #1: There are no dumb questions.
Rule #2: There are always (a few) exceptions to rule #1. ;-)
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your time here, it is a wonderful place to learn!

Rich,
First, welcome from the Pine Barrens of southern New Jersey.
Second, unlike other sports, for the most part, you will find that most members of the shooting fraternity want to see our peers succeed. What will surprise you, is the level of data and information exchanged at matches. I have participated in 25 National High Power Championships since 1988. You will find veteran shooters providing advice to the novices, you will find deep discussions about reloading, case preparation, precision reloading, and tweaking match rifles. I challenge any other sport to be as supportive as ours!

Rich,
Welcome. Most of us were Newbies at one time and for a lot of different models, we still are. This site gives us access to some genuine experts for each of the models S&W produced over the years. I've learned a lot in the two+ years I have been a member.

Indeed....indeed...when I converted from Ruger Firearms to S&W these guys guided me through different things about the S&W models....Not saying they don't know other models also but this is the place for S&W know how, knowledge, and best practices.

Ask stupid questions? Not a problem. I've been asking stupid questions on this forum for 14 years and still do it.
Welcome aboard Doc Richard!

Welcome, Rich
There are only a couple of forums I frequent where any/ all questions are generally handled respectfully with solid information. This is one of them.
Rarely do I see a lot of flaming and nonsense here- and I'm grateful for it. Too much drama is a turn off for me.
Welcome aboard & please keep us up to date w/ your S&W journey

Welcome aboard. I boarded in early spring after I bought my S&W handgun. It is a great forum devoid of politics, backbiting, and all the other nonsense that many other forums suffer from. We owe that to clear rules and excellent moderators. This is a place to learn and teach. Enjoy.

Welcome to the Forum. I would like to add that the members here are not only knowledgeable but are quick to help fellow members. I recently posted about losing a grip screw and within days, I received not one but two. Thanks HRichard. Here's the before and after.

I couldn't agree more!
I've found that the collective knowledge (about anything!) is only rivaled by the collective willingness to help others!
By far the most impressive forum, ever.
And, greetings from the Oregon Coast!

We're humbled by your gratitude and praise, Dr.
But remember, we have a saying here: "pics or it didn't happen."
Just kidding, of course. Welcome!

Here's another shout out to the moderators...they have set the standard for how forums should be run. Guns, only guns and chase the riff-raff out.!
My greatest satisfaction comes from introducing new shooters to the sport. I love working with those who are new so they get started safely and encouraging them to buy American guns. Of course S&W first but always an American gun maker...harder when it comes to long guns but always with handguns. I do own a few Rugers but 98% S&W.

Welcome to the site, I have also gained a great deal of information over the years, that has added to this addition. My name is Doug and I'm a "Smithaholic".
