Have you ever considered making a version that extends into the gap where the lock's "flag" rises? A version that fills the Hillary hole and the flag slot would be outstanding. It would put me in the market for a current production 4" 629.

Best Regards,

That would be a slick part that's for sure. I've kicked that around a few times since I have the ability to manufacture parts like that. When I get some time I'll see what I can do about wrapping my head around a part like that. Maybe I can come up with something that will be bulletproof.

Well this is gonna sound cagey but it's not meant to. I don't usually give out my materials info or setups or much else that goes on in my shop, I'm kind of quiet about things like that. What I can tell you is the steel alloy number I use has and may still be being used to make Mil-Spec barrels. It's top quality stuff I'm not using rebar.

Leaving an open slot next to the hammer is the issue that's prevented me from removing any locks.
A properly designed gap filler would be a definite plus, IMHO.

Just ordered one. I see no concern from the tiny open slot next to the hammer.

A plate is a slam dunk easy for me to do. Making the slug and retainer integral to a plate is another story there's a few things that create issues. Attachment is one of em there's not much area to work with and has to take repeated beating from recoil. If there's any chance for it to fail I won't make em..

Maybe we'll just do a plain ol filler plate but it won't fill the Hillary hole. Would fill the slot beside the hammer and the cavity inside. Chime in if yall want plates. May take a while to get em developed then I have to write Patent paperwork before I'd put em out for sale.

OMG? Where have you been for the last several years?
Lock plugs that are nearly identical to these have been around for quite a while. Nice looking product to be sure, but the only thing I can see that's "different" is the titanium offering. The retaining fork is very similar to the one that's already in your gun. Not at all knocking the new vendors product, but just pointing out that it isn't really all that new or different unless I'm missing something. Mine also come in a neat little plastic bag that can be used to store the lock parts, and I suspect the ones made by bullseyesmith do too. Ya got choices!

Negative ghost rider that pattern is full. It is barrel grade steel. You are welcome to take it and have it lab tested.
The main reason I don't give out my alloy numbers is most all alloys of metals will machine differently, some are a slight difference some are night and day but there's a difference. Those differences come into play in my processes the same as they do for anyone who makes products out of metal. I selected each of the materials I use based on their alloy properties then adapted my processes to be very efficient with those metals so I can be sure to give everyone the best product I possibly can as fast as I possibly can.

Not intended to be smart assed. Just pointing out the fact that similar plugs have been available for probably 8-10 years, so the introduction of another similar product is not an earth shattering event. I failed to note that you've only been on the forum for a couple of months, so I quests that's an adequate excuse for not knowing about plug availability.
BTW, typing in all capitals is considered shouting by many. Again, if you're new, it's a common mistake and I'm not scolding, just informing.

It certainly wasn't. However, it was the first of that design. All my sight pushers are my design, and don't copy anyone else's. My design has been copied by others, but they have failed to improve on it. The plug concept is Bullseyesmith's design. I only started making them when he disappeared for a year or so, and folks were clamoring for them. The design is quite simple, and anyone with a mill or a lathe can make them. The new guy seems to make a quality product, and offers some finish variations not otherwise available.

I didn't really want to post this but you backed me in a corner epj stating there is basically no difference in my parts and yours.

There are many differences and we both know that, I just wasn't going to say it or compare mine to yours for all to read and I still won't.

I will let my parts, machining, metal finishing, packaging, and availability speak for themselves and for the quality of work I do. The folks that see them can make their own determinations as to what they want to buy and put in their guns.

I will not bicker here, my intent here was to let the Smith & Wesson Revolver lovers know that I make a very nice part set that I am very proud of and they can get them fast from me in stock no waiting. (me being one of the revolver lovers, the sound and feel of the lockwork being one of my favorite parts of the guns)

Thus why you notice I did't post in your thread and will not do so. I do appreciate the HIJACK to get your name and product into my post though, very smooth took a day or so to find the right one to quote eh. I saw that you scooped out my profile out within hours of my ad hitting the classifieds. No problem, I produce a world class product in a high volume from my little shop so everyone is welcome to check it out. I encourage it.

Now EPJ let's leave this thread for folks that are interested in knowing about my parts it was not intended for you to advertise in.

I am going to close this thread as we now know the product offered by the OP. No need to allow the bickering to continue.
