Default Last Year for 6" Model 10?

What was the last year for production of the 6 inch barrel on the Model 10? Just picked up a nice 10-7 6 inch in the 4D serial range and was curious.

You know, that's a good question. And what about five-inch barrels?

The Standard Catalog 4th Ed. lists a 10-9 5-inch blued with SBPC grips marked "RCMP GRC" with serial BHB2061 among the Model 10 variations. Serial puts it in 1991.

I've found a 6-inch 10-7 in the 5D serial range on GB.

I know RCMP/GRC. What are SBPC grips?

All RCMP Model 10's I've seen pics of had normal Magna grips. I think the guns may be marked with some variant of MP for Mounted Police, but on the frame, maybe under the grips.

I recently picked up a 6" 10-7 with a 6D serial #. It has a pinned barrel.

I think SBPC stands for Square Butt, Plain Clothes. These were square butt magnas that were rounded on the bottom (ie. to the sides) so they didn't "print" as much in plain clothes carry. By the late '70s I think most all K-frame fixed sight magna grips were this style. Pic of SBPC grips on the left and regular square butts on the right.
