I just got a new Bianchi Cyclone 111 (my sixth) for my Ruger GP 100-44s 3 inch
from Amazon...the S&W 686 3 inch was on the list for the same holster.
I have several older Bianchi 111s from time before they were made in mexico. MY older ones are suede lined...the latest one...not sure what to call it....but its not suede...closer to a smooth leather....the fit is perfect! I like the two way belt slots....strong side/cross draw. The one my S&W 686 4 inch rides in is so old....it only has belt slots for cross draw. Which works for me...use it when I am driving.

I was concerned about carry for my new 686 2.5", so I ordered an inexpensive test holster, a JIT. I am carrying for the 3rd day in Fl Keys. It's hot. I'm wearing a tee shirt. It doesn't show at all. It's also very comfortable. I had been carrying a 640 iwb and didn't really know what to expect. This is a pleasant surprise to be able to carry owb in an inexpensive holster. I am looking at a smaller grip but that's a different story.

Just a tip: If the holster you are considering is tightly boned, make sure that it is specifically for the 7-shot L-frame, as the cylinder flutes are in a different position than one for a 6-shot.
Adios,

Mitch Rosen Extrodinary GunLeather! Had good experience with lots of holsters and mag pouches and belts. Good luck.

I'm using Warbird leather for my owb. It's spice brown with tobacco elephant. My iwb Holster is from Wright Leather Works. Love them both.
