Have a Model 650 that I find hard to shoot accurately.

The problem is I can't see the front sight.

I've only had it to the range once, and the problem might be reduced by different lighting.

I end up basically point shooting and it doesn't work well.

I have some orange "Model Air" acrylic paint and am considering painting a little on the front sight.

Are there any better suggestions?

Can this type of paint be removed if I ever want to sell this somewhat "collectable" gun?

Paint works well. I'm not familiar with the 650, so I looked it up. It looks like it has the integral stainless steel ramp front sight. If yours is so equipped, then removing paint from the front sight shouldn't be a problem. I've removed paint from the stainless steel front sights of my 642s without any issues.

For the best results, if you're planning on using colors, apply a white base coat first, after degreasing the sight. Once the white base coat is dry, apply the color of your choice. As far as color, you'll likely have to experiment with that as everybody's different. You may even decide that just painting it white works. It's often a good idea to paint the rear sight black for better contrast.

Personally, I've painted the front and rear sights on my 642s matte black as that works best for me.

I just use fingernail polish. My wife jokes that I have more colors than she does! My favorite is bright green because I see it well. I'll clean, add a coat of white, then the green. Cover that with hardner and done. Then I take a black Sharpie to the rear sight on gun with fixed sights. Works well for me!
