Default Info on this 686-5 Plus 3" Matt. A bit of an oddity?

I picked this up today. 686-5 Plus with a 3" barrel and a matt finish. I can't find out much a bout it. What do the experts here know? It seems to be absent from the SCoSW. Is it rare? Is it worth more that $500? Here are some pictures.

It's a special run of uncatalogued models, and is worth quite a bit more than 500! Nice find. I have a couple and have had mine lettered.

It is worth 750 or better in my neck of the woods.

I plan to shoot it though. It's not a collectible super rare gun or anything is it?

The 104190 is a big time mystery gun. Very desirable and highly collectible. No mention in the SCoS&W. The last one I saw sell went for more than two grand. Scarcity must be why. I'd guess fewer than 100 made, based on how infrequently I've seen them over the years.
