Default New sights

I am interested in the SW model 60-3" barrel and SW Pro Series Model 60-3" barrel. I would like to replace the sights with Dovetail Tritium Night Sights, front and back. Is this possible? Any problems with the gun, putting these sights on?

Default Night Sights on Mod 60-3

This sounds like a major job. I'm not sure it can be done, one, without weakening the back strap and a major adjustment to the barrel. If you know a good gunsmith, inquire there. Frankly, I wouldn't think of doing it. You're talking about cutting two dovetails, one on the back strap and the other on the barrel. That is, if I read you correctly.

I believe the pro series comes with a front night sight - a pinned blade, not a dovetail. I don't know of any adjustable rear night sights for J-frames.

Adios,
