24-3 Question
Local gun store has one of these for sale. It looks to be in the 90-95% range. It has a 3" barrel on it, but also comes with the 6" barrel. It has the original box, not sure about the grips.
What's the value on one of these? I feel like the asking price is a little high at $1,200. Looking for a collector weapon to hold some value.
Thanks.

How comfortable are you with your 90-95% condition rating? That condition range to me means that quite a bit of wear is showing; probably end of barrel, high points, and obvious turn line. If by "collector" you mean something you can set aside which will increase in value I think there are lots better investments for $1200. I'd guess someone had a six inch 24-3 and found a three inch barrel and changed out the original and then used it quite a bit to get to a 90-95% gun. If you want a shooter, it would probably make a great one but even with the box and extra barrel, if it is really less than 95%, $1200 is several hundred more than I would want to pay. Good luck.

90-95% fish says "shooter" to me, not collector. And the two barrels was never a factory option so that doesn't add any "collector" value.
Others may differ but you asked our opinions.

The asking price is way too high. You should be able to find a 3" 24-3 (with factory combat grips) NIB or LNIB for that kind of money.
You should keep looking. A 24-3 in 90 to 95% condition isn't a collector-grade gun.
The "extra" barrel wouldn't have any interest for me, and would make me wonder about the history of the gun.

The codes on the box label would tell us what the factory barrel length was, along with other details. Can you describe the numbers and letter codes there? (A picture might be easiest).

I purchased a 24-3 about a month ago in 6 1/2 barrel it's a solid 95% with no box or papers for 850.00 so personally I think 1200.00 is to high.
