Default 686 Mountian Gun value?

I have the opportunity to pick up a 686+ MG from a friend. Anybody know current values on these, so neither of us gets the short end of the deal. It's a non lock model in good shape with paperwork, in a S&W box missing the end label. It's dirty but the action works as it should, and tight lockup. Probably a 95%+ gun. Thanks in advance for any help with this.

About $650-700 or so. Don't feel bad for paying a little more if it cleans up really nice .

Tom, I sold a nice example of one with box docs ect for north of a grand.

There was one here on the forum for sale that had been reduced several times with no takers....I don't know if it sold, or how much it brought, but you can check the for sale section and see.

Good luck, the 686+ MG is one fine example of gun makers art.

Default 686-5 MG on GB

Hope this helps. A gun is only worth what someone is willing to pay. This auction was set with a reserve. So it depends on what the buyer is willing to pay and what the seller is willing to sell it for. Remember auctions may be misleading. Hope the two of you can work it out.

I believe you'll find that high condition 686+ Mtn. Guns with box & papers have been selling for a bit north of $1,000 for the past year or so. Use the search function and look up the data that member 5-wire has collected on these guns. Good luck with your purchase.
