Default 24-3 rear sights

I'm getting blurry eyed look at pictures on google trying to figure out the manufacture of the rear sights on the 24-3 I purchased recently. I've seen some similar but none just like it, though some of you might be able to help.

They resemble a Weigand.

Not a Weigand - they were a replacement blade for the stock S&W sight body.

Looks like a Millet.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

I've looked at Millet pictures and didn't see one that has the "Ears" on both sides of the top. Bowens don't have the hole in the center of the elevation screw. The sight has windage screws on both sides. Had another person suggest Bomar but I couldn't find anything there. I may pull the sight off to see if there's some ID on the underside.

They look like Weigand rear sights. At least like some he used to make.

Here is thread from this forum that features them...

Of all the pictures I've looked at they resemble Bowens more than any others. The main difference is the hole in the elevation screw. I took the 24 to the range last week to sight in some hand loads and ran out of elevation about two inches below the bulls eye at 20 yards.

You may want to send a pic of the rear sights to Weigand and Bowen and ask if they have seen something like them.

The more I look at them the more they look like a gunsmith adaptation.

I suppose that's possible, if indeed it is a gunsmith adaption he did a very nice job. I've taken the sights off and couldn't find any markings on the underside. Other then the fact I can't bring the sight any higher is pretty well made.

Behlert rear sights had the elevation screw with the hole in the center, but the other elements of the sight do not match-up.
