Default Model 25-9 Question

Was at the LGS today and they have a 25-9 that is in like NIB condition. Faint ring on the cylinder, they are saying unfired. They have the box and paperwork. Target grips. Asking $1100.00 for it. Deal or no deal? Yes, I know pictures would be nice, but........

Yes, pictures would be nice. Even ones from your cell phone and if you have the 6 digit product code off the box that would really help.

otherwise you need to enlighten us as to which configuration of the model 25 you are looking at. The -9 engineering revision shipped in several different styles

What is the barrel length?
What is the finish?
What target grips are on it, the factory wood ones? Or the newer ones that were farmed out to Altomonte?

If it is the 5" matte finished one with the unfluted cylinder, than that is not a bad price.

One of the other configurations, I myself would probably pass on it. Especially if I were planning on shooting it.

6 Inch
Blued
Factory Wood

Shooter? Of course, is there anything else?
If you don't shoot it, it is just a paperweight.

If that's really a 5" and not 6" it should have an unfluted cylinder and matte blue finish. The 5" inchers were a Lew Horton special run. The original grips would have been hougu rubber finger groved.

If it is NIB, then $1100 is probably fair. I would try to get it for $900 cashout out the door, and happily meet him at $1000 if he wanted....but I would be more excited about a 9 handle.

It is a six inch barrel and the cylinder is fluted.

Not sure what your intentions for the gun in question are. I know, it is not the same gun, but I took my 25-15 (Colt) to the range the other day. Had so much fun shooting steel targets with 230 gr. plated handloads at 25 yds. I was shooting well that day! Bob

My intentions are to shoot the gun as it was meant to be used. Not to abuse it, but to shoot it. Guns that are not used are just paperweights.
