Default question on J frame grips

I recently purchased a 63-4 kit gun that has the round butt frame. Looking at buying target style Rosewood grips for it . What I see is some that are stated for square butt only and some that take both Round and Square (conversion style) all in Target style shape grips. When I look at the inside I dont see any difference in the cutouts but Im not a stock maker. So will all round butt j frames fit the square butt target stocks, or only the ones that state it fits both? Just what makes the difference?

Back in the day J frame , and K frame for that matter, came in two different frame configurations Square butt frame and Round butt frame.
Grips were not interchangeable .
S&W started making all frames with Round butts...saves money .
Grip makers started making round to square conversion grips for those who now wanted a Square butt grip.
When buying grips make sure to order the correct one , if you have a round butt gun and want a squre butt grip...you need to order round to square conversion. A regular square butt grip will not fit a round butt gun unless the maker says it will fit both...don't take it for granted, double check , email or call and ask....you don't want to buy grips you can't use...

That's how I read it Gary. So evidentally the true square butt grips have inside cutouts slightly different from even the conversion grips .

One other thing. Is my newer model 63-4 round butt frame different from old S&W model 63 round butt frames?
