Replaced the Jerry Miculek grips on my 625-8 today
I finally got around to installing some Combat Super Rosewood grips from Altamont today. I really like the "JM" grips and their profile for shooting and carrying. However, I've been carrying this "N" frame more and more recently instead of the "J" frame because I've found a near perfect holster/belt combo and it hides so very well on my large frame. The only caveat is: when seated in the car the "JM"s started to dig into my side when driving my Explorer Sport and even more so the wife's Jeep Rubicon. So I thought a pair of Combat Round Butt's would dig into my side a bit less. And boy was I right. Now I haven't shot it yet with these new Altamont's but they fit my mitts really nice! Plus I have the same on my 70's "J" frames and they do so much better than the stock Magna's that came on them.
Tomorrow I'll install a recent Original Precision Lock Delete that I've been meaning to get around to... I just thought I'd post a couple of pics in case anyone was thinking about a grip swap on their "N" frame.

I have bought a few sets of stocks for my JM. I do not do well with finger groove stocks. These feel good to me. Bob

They do make a good looking package on your revolver .The main thing about revolver shooting is how the gun fits your hand if they perform well and they obviously look good you have a winning combination.

True! They fit my big mitts even better than the stock grips! I think they will displace the recoil over a wider area too so that is always a plus on a pistol that was on the soft side of recoil to begin with. The Combats carry better than the stock grips that I know for sure. Now to install that Lock Delete and I think I've found my perfect 6 gun!
