New grip for 686
My 686 came with a rubber grip. It fits me well but I began to develop a desire for a wood grip. I tried a Hogue but it did not fit well. Guess I got a poor example as many others have good results with Hogues.
I eyeballed some on ebay. Vendor "jaruwan.p" (Thailand) had some interesting looking ones. I was curious as to their fit and appearance in the flesh. So I rolled the dice and forked out $29. I was anticipating a long delivery time but they arrived in a week.
I like it, good fit and nice grain. It turns out that the photos in the ebay ads are for the exact grips. So one can pick based on color and grain patterns and that is the grip that gets shipped.
Photos could be better but too lazy to get out the tripod so I could stop down the lens for better depth of field.

Very nice. Just picked up a set of VZ G10 grips for mine. I like the wood grips but nothing beats the durability of G10.

Those Thai grip makers are starting to make better looking grips. I hope they work out well for you. I hate to to hear the Hogues gave you problems. Although not for everyone they usually put out a great product. (Just not for X frame recoil!)

I purchased a Hogue stock for my 686-6 Pro Series. Super tight to go on. Called C.S. and asked for help. Talked me through it. It cracked. Replacement was given, but had to pick a different model. New 1 came. It is very tight also, but no issues. Does look & feel great to me. Bob

Very nice grips! I posted a thread a couple weeks ago about my hwy. patrolman target grips I received from Jurawan P. I have 2 sets from him so far, both look good fit well and feel great. The pictures he posts are of the exact set. I bought my first set of a lighter color and was surprised when that light set came. He is very friendly and does good work.
