Default My 625 PC for a Sig Equinox .45ACP

A friend wants to trade his Sig Equinox .45ACP auto for my 625 PC 45 ACP.....I think he would have to add some cash to do that deal. What say you?

Keep the 625,bad deal for you even if cash added.

If you want to trade, trade up,not down.

Trade for an equal or better S&W revolver if you are board with what you have.

I agree w/ stakeout. This is not a deal I'd make. While I like sigs, I wouldn't take that deal.

625's don't grow on trees. I think that you would probably miss it. I have a JM myself, and would not do it. Bob

No trade. A poor revolver beats a great bottom feeder A N Y--D A Y

A FINE REVOLVER beats the Best bottom feeder ALL DAY. Every Day

I like Sig Sauer too. But I wouldn't make that trade. The Sig is worth less than your 625 in my opinion, and the slide doesn't wear well on an Equinox, at least in my experience.

I guess I look at it differently. If the trade wasn't of any interest to you, you would not be asking, correct? If it is something that interests you and you wind up "total cash neutral" or better, than I would do it. I see some 625 JM PCs on Gunbroker so it is not like you cannot find another if you end up hating the Sig. I would just think about how the Sig market is in your local area. Some areas are Sig areas, some are S&W areas, some are Kimber areas. You get a good feel for how many of a brand and types are in an area from Armslist. I am not promoting that site, I am simply saying it is a good barameter of what brands are well represented in your area.
If you look on GB, NIB for the two, the Sig is actually more. You have to judge in your local market what the used price is for the two. All boils down to if the Equinox is something you like and want to have. I have tried two of them in the last couple of years and I dont like that model cause the grips are so chunky and I have small hands. However, throw a set of E2 grips on them and now I can clean out the 10 ring

Groo here
We are not shooting them, you are.
Do you shoot the sig better, does it do a job the 625 does not?
The S&W will be more accurate, and easier to feed.[ like Mikey, they eat
anything]
The Sig will hold more and is flatter/lighter .
What ever fits you best.

Maybe for the SIG and $1K. Otherwise, I'd pass.

You say your friend wants to trade his Sig for your 625. In that case, do not go for the trade. Let him go on GunBroker or other sites as others have mentioned and get a 625 PC. I hate doing favors for other people when I come out on the short end.

Thanks for the replies, I decided to keep the 625, I guess the sig is not really what I like. I'll stick to my S&W revolvers.

Think you made the right decision. I have both a 625 (JM) and a SIG 220 Carry Elite. Like them both, but the 625 gets shot far more.

Your friend no doubt thinks your 625 is a better gun or he wouldn't be wanting to trade his Sig for it. I agree with let him sell his Sig and then go buy a 625 of his own.

I have a 9 and a 40 Sig P226 and I wouldn't trade them for any S&W auto. S&W has their good points and so does Sig. No point in comparing apples to oranges { revolvers to semi autos} so to speak.
