Default S&W 500

Is this a good price for NIB 4" S&W 500 $1040 shipped to my FFL? From an online dealer that I found on Slickguns. My FFL charges me $10 per transfer.$1050 total. Thanks

That seems to be about the average price range for a brand new one from an online dealer. Around here they're $1,100 or more from the local stores.

Compared to retail, that's very close to dealer cost.

I guess I got a good deal.I always check Buds pricing ..they have it for $1114 + cc fee. Buds did not agree to match the advertised price. I paid $1029 +$12.17 shipping and cc fee.The online retailer shows 25 in stock. I called to confirm before submitting my order.

I picked up my 8&3/8" 500 online, shipped for $1065 - this was 6 weeks ago. I thought I got a good deal...I would say the same about yours.

I assume you plan to reload for it? It's more fun that way. I tried a lot of factory ammo but haven't tried the 700 grain stuff yet. S&W 500

CDR is right. If you don't plan to reload - 20 or so factory rounds offset any "great" purchase price difference.

I have reloaded 45 Colt, 44 Mag, 454 Casull, 460 S&W, 50AE (for years) and now reload S&W 500 (last couple of weeks). A must do, IMO, for the big bores.

Will you reload? How many rounds per week/month will you shoot?

I personally do 25 to 30. Unless I'm working up a load, then I'll do 40

Reloading is a must for the 500. It's half of the fun.

I found Armscor 300gr JHP S&W 500 for like $1/round shipped. Not sure how much I'd save reloading, but I'm saving the brass.
