Default S&W 60 no dash, matte finish

I just saw a nice 60 no dash with a matte finish. Did S&W ever produce any that way? If it was done later, it was an excellent job.

There was at least one that I can recall, a DAO factory model 60-3 in both 2 and 3" with a bead blast matte finish, but this would have been just after the model 60 run.

I just bought a new model 60, to replace the original one I sold years ago.

A google search showed me someone else selling a similar gun, but it may have been refinished as well.

Model 60s are a bit like '55 Chevys... there are a whole bunch out there that came from the factory with some slight variations but then received all sorts of loving (if sometimes misguided) modifications. Polishing or otherwise modifying the original factory finish was/is quite common, and unless you are looking for a pristine collector's piece should have little influence on the price (unless you use it to talk down the price )

I've reached the conclusion that everyone should have at least one Model 60 to call all their own, but this is JMHO, of course.
