Default S&W 351 PD 22 Mag

I just purchased a new 351 PD for my wife to carry who is getting weaker in her old age. The trigger pull is really hard, too hard even for me. Is this a normal thing with these and what can be done to change it ?

That’s the problem with J frame guns and especially J rimfire. It takes a heavy trigger to reliably fire a rimfire cartridge. Other then a trigger job to smoothe it out by someone that knows what they are doing and maybe a minimal spring weight change, you have little options.

Default Does S&W make a lighter spring for the 351 PD ?

I had one before years ago and it had a lighter pull, do you think
S&W makes more than one spring ?

Default Springs

Had same gun.
Tried different springs and had light strikes.
Wanted to like the gun but almost hated it 16 pound pull & light gun = sell
I don't have weak hands.

I picked up a 351pd a few weeks ago. I really like it so far but the trigger was very heavy straight from the factory. I was able to improve it to the point that it is reasonable. Look for the thread I started if you want details on what I did. The trigger is nowhere near as good as my midsize or full size revolvers but I am learning to shoot it pretty well.

I’m sure a competent gunsmith could improve it much more than I did but I’m happy with where the trigger is now. It’s hard to get a small rimfire revolver with a light trigger and reliable ignition.
