Default New reissue 66 opinions?

I have the opportunity to buy a used but good shape new style 66 for $550. It has two sets of grips and a couple of speedloaders. I own and love a 19-4 but don't have a stainless K frame. Has anybody messed with one of the new ones? I'm tempted to buy it because I probably wouldn't take too much of a hit if I sold it again.

This is the stainless version of the model 19 and really doesn't sound like a bad deal. If it's in good shape I don't feel you'll lose anything in the future. I'd purchase one in a minute if I saw it for that price here in N. California.

If you can buy a current production firearm in good shape for over $100 below wholesale, no tax, no phone call, I'd say go for it.

I read somewhere they were having problems with the current production model. I just bought a new model 60, and was looking at a new model 66. I decided against it until the problems with it are solved. The model 60 is fine.

That sounds like a deal to me if the condition warrants. I haven't looked, but I would think the MSRP would be somewhere up around $800, and street price around $650 new.

At that price, I'd buy it and never look back. Nor would I sell it. You'll have a reliable shooter for the rest of your life.

I have a new 2.75" 66-8. Great gun and no issues. I love the new lock-up on the yoke. Fit and finish are excellent.

I don't know if the OP is talking about the 4-1/4" or 2-3/4" M66-8. I'm going to guess the longer bbl. because they've been out longer & could probably be found for a lower price. The shorter bbl. just started appearing a few months ago.

Some of the shorter bbl. ones have had this problem:
Issues with my 66-8 2.75"

Aaannnd....it sold. Watched the price drop for a month. Guess $550 was somebody else's trigger price too.
