Bought new.38 "special" and cleaned it as manufacture recommended BEFORE SHOOTING. NOTICED BARREL IN ACTION END IS NOT VERY SMOOTH around the edges. Rough edges etc. Is this normal? Seems like the quality should be smooth. Will the bullet be "scraped"?
f you're talking about roughness inside the forcing cone, I had the same issue on a 340. Another poster described it as a "wire edge." My gunsmith removed it with a chamfering tool. If the roughness is on the outside of the rear of the barrel, most of my J-frames have that. Does not affect functioning.
