Default Yet another rebate question...

Just kidding! Sorry if I got a rise in anyone's blood pressureYet another rebate question... Serious question though revolving around grip selection for a 686. I'm looking at getting a revolver and have settled on a 686. My first obstacle I'm trying to get over is choosing between the 3" and 4" barrel. I've shot both and found I really liked the balance of the 3", but would think the 4" would be a better field companion. If I do settle on the 4", is there a difference between round butt and square butt grips in terms of grip and felt recoil? Thanks for any replies in advance!

Yes, all else being equal, square grips give more control for most people with average hands. Of course, you can get both types for a round butt gun and see what you prefer. Not sure if you plan to daily carry a 686 (weight) but round butt wood grips are the easiest to conceal and draw from concealment.
You pays your money and you makes your choices...........
