Default To Each His Own

I have always liked three sevens. Some people claim they are lucky numbers, and playing blackjack or poker they would serve nicely. My Dad handed me his gun one day and said he wanted me to have it, as he knew I liked guns.
It was just a nickel Model 36, but had three consecutive sevens as part of the serial number. Strange the hands life sometimes deals a man. I gracefully accepted the gun and told him I would both cherish and take good care of it.

Bought a 629-1 that is in great condition and looks mostly unfired. Stored it away. The serial number ended with three sevens, much to my delight.

Was changing a set of grips yesterday to place what used to supposed to be on the gun, though the grips are 3 years older, and started thinking about a set of grips I bought from Keith Brown years ago. They were still put away and unused, but I started wondering. Strange how the mind can wonder/ wander sometimes. Hope nobody falls out their chair, but I found the perfect place for Keith's grips and I like the setup. A trip to the range will answer my final question about leaving them where I put them.

Changed to stainless with a 64 that had me turn my favorite 14-3 over to a more needful place. Changed to a 640-1 with the police trade-ins, and we will never part. Just needed something for snakes and such.

Default To each his own?

I know I could just close this thread and move on but I have a question or two.

First you discuss 3 7's in serial numbers, then you discuss a set of grips you have. Then you tell us about other guns and buying and selling them.

Just what is the focus of your title to the thread?

Be Still clearly just wasn't still enough, give him a little while to be still and find his way.

Focus? I wasn't shooting. See you have three consecutive Gs in your title.
Guess my post was a little 3D. The focus could be whatever you like: to each his own. Finding grips to show those sevens reminded me of the Model 36 and the man gave it to me. Everything's good.

I'll try with gloves first. The .44 Magnum loads usually beat the heck out of my middle finger at least once or twice, and I was hoping for a little more space there. Had not thought about the frame. Thanks.

Yep all good, I'd like to see that model 36 to bring it all together.

Default M29 / 629 grips that work

Buy a set of Hogue finger groove monogrips that have the open back. Yes, it is almost the World's ugliest grip to some members but they work. All my 44 shooters have a set, and all get fed the same brisk ammo. Ok all the M629s have full lug barrels and unfluted cylinders -- another Forum conflict.
