Came across a 625-8 PC & an old M&P (1902?)
Happened to see a 625-8 tonight at the local Cabelas. They had a price of 899 on it which seems a bit high, even if it was a Performance Center gun. Had the JM stocks on it & I think it had the box if I remember. Didn't have time to look at it in hand. I have to go back there anyway so I'll look at it again.
They also had an Armalight M15A2 NM that looked pretty good. That was 899 also
Last one was a really nice Weatherby mark V in 270 Wby. Had a VX3 on it. Very clean looking gun for 1299. The floor plate & trigger guard are engraved.

The 625 is a 4" barrel. Feels good & it has the box. The real kicker is the old M&P. She just needs to be cleaned on the inside it feels like.

Let's keep this quiet, but I may have taken the 625 of the market. Has the cardboard box & moon clips but nothing else. Didn't pay the sticker price either.
However. Please educate me about the old M&P. It's a 4 screw & are these the original stocks? Aside from some where on the cylinder, she doesn't seem too bad. Still has color case hardening on the trigger & hammer. Serial #20726. Story they got is it was the guys grand dad duty gun. Cylinder is matching serial number to frame.

I back home in MT & don't have any reference material. Hard rubber stocks are numbered to the gun also.

In hindsight maybe I should take the M&P questions to the early revolvers forum section

I'm trying to learn more about it. From what I am finding it appears to be in the first batch. Made prior to 1902. Please feel free to share some info with me.

Cory, I would not be interested in the 625. It has a lock and I would much rather find a 5 inch Model of 1988/1989 or a 4 inch -3 for the same price locally or on gunbroker.
However, I like the round butt M&P. It looks to be in rather fine condition but I'd want it at like, $650 out the door. Tax here in AZ would put the OTD at like $750 for that and I'd rather put that type of money into something I'd had my heart set on.
Either way, they are both great revolvers, just priced a little high and not on my short list.

Thats a decent deal on the 625, they shoot well even with the lock. I paid well over that years ago when I bought mine, but I wanted it pretty bad too.

I have wanted a 25/625 in 45 auto for a while so I'm happy with the deal.

Congrats, now when you shoot it you'll see the need for 1 or 2 or 6 more of the 45 revolvers.
625-8 PC; 625-2 M of 1988; 22-4 Thunder Ranch; 1917.

I believe it did also. Not a big loss there in my opinion. The JM ones feel good.

Just ordered the red, white & blue stocks from the mothership. Just over $60 shipped. Far from the $100 mentioned above.
