Default New 686-6--dig that!!

Hey! Just picked this up in a local trade. Serial #DBN86*3. Haven't shot it yet, but it looks great! Oh--a little rust on the trigger. Other than that, it's great. Love the feel of this thing...

Very nice. I have 3 686's and carry at least one on every range trip. The weight is just right for my taste and they are extremely accurate with everything I run through them. I'm betting this won't be your last one!

Enjoy, and don't forget a range report.

Can't see the trigger clearly, but that discoloration might be the normal treatment the triggers get at the factory.

That may be the single most versatile, reliable, rugged, fun, and just plain cool firearm ever made. A little rust and dings don't mean a thing. Having said all that, may I take the liberty to suggest a nice wood grip insted of its current rubber booty. Nice gun, enjoy.

You are sure to enjoy your 686! I traded into a 686-6, in March at the local gun show. Was definitely an impulse move. My last poly gun went towards it. It is a 5" Pro-Series. I enjoy it, and it shoots quite well. Have 2 other L frame magnums also. Bob

Default 686-6

Very nice gun! I definitely agree with the other posters that your 686-6 deserves a nice set of wood grips. Here's my 686-6 with Tulipwood grips by Hogue:

Default S&W 686

You made a wise choose and purchase/trade.

It is hard to beat a Model 686, not over whelming
Cylinder lockup is right and tight, and accurate as
a laser.

The other day I was thinking what it costs me to
reload 50 rounds. I'll just say it's $8.00.
Lead bullet/Red Dot or Unique or Bullseye/CCI
primer/Win or Rem or Starline Cases. For Magnum
I use 158 Hornady XTP bullets and the right powder
charge.

Congratulations
