Just put a vortex venom on my 625!
I just wanted to show off a little. I'm giddy about hitting the range with these. The 25-2 shoots so well its silly. Show off those 45's!

I drilled and tapped my 625-2 so I could mount a Burris FF3 attached to a mount manufactured and sold by forum member revolver ph in the forum classifieds. It's a very well made product.
Other revolvers I have with the exception of a 3" 66-2 and pre 25 were drilled and tapped at the factory.
I use the red dot for testing my reloads off a sand bag then switch back to factory sights.

I'll show off my 625-9 "Mountain Gun"! I spift it up with Altamont rosewood grips. And, I love those big bullets too!
S&W Model 625-9 "Mountain Gun" in .45 Colt.
Thanks for looking at my Mountain Gun.
God bless,
Birdgun

I am looking to put a red dot on my 325 TR. Please keep us informed on how this red dot works on your 625.

625's are marvelous, there's something about dropping a moon clip of 45acp into the cylinder that is satisfying. I have a couple 3 inchers and a Model of 1988 that I love dearly.

Two questions on your red dot and mount:
1) Did you get the 3 or 6 MOA version of the the Venom?
2) What rail did you get for your 625?
Thanks!

I just bought a Vortex Venom to be put on "a revolver to be named later." I put in on my Volquartsen Scorpion .22 temporarily to try it out, and I like it. I don't shoot my target 22's without a red dot, and I love the Fastfire III on my Range Officer 45, but I haven't tried a red dot on a revolver yet. I could put it on my 27-2, but I don't want to cover any of that fancy topstrap. I could put it on my 629, but I think it would see more use on a .357. So, I'm dreaming of a 686. Wouldn't mind having one of those 625's, though. I certainly have enough ammo for it.

3 MOA. I like a small, dim dot, since most everything I shoot is bullseye type targets, no faster than 5 rd in 10 seconds. For speed shooting, like plates, etc, many people like the 6 MOA.

I got the 3MOA version. The mount came from a member on the classifieds forum here. I prefer the smaller dot since I still have great eyesight. Haha

Thanks for showing pix of the Venom "in action".
I have been thinking of getting one and fit it to a number of guns starting with my 444 lever and double rifles.
I only live about 2 miles from Vortex but have never visited for fear of spending way more than planned.
You might have pushed me passed that fear.
