686-3 thanks for advice
Follow up on a previous post. That la for the guidance about Prelock vs post lock.
Pulled the trigger on a really nice 686-3. For California this is not the easiest to aquire.
Pretty stoked.
750.00 got me the pistol, 200 rounds of jacketed hps and 400 once fired brass
. All in all happy to see a firing pin vs smooth faced hammer.
She will be out in 10 days.

Very nice and a great deal you got!! That is the choice I would have made too. I like the no lock, firing pin on hammer guns more myself. Enjoy shooting that sweet gun!!

Yep she is a fine shooter..........I happen to like the wood grips so I put them on my 686-3.
Congrats on your 686-3, you will love it! Enjoy it and if you wish to sweeten up the trigger a bit a set of Wolff springs will enhance the action.

Well funny story, it had the rubber grips on it when I got it. A guy had a 586-1 4in that he didn't like the trigger on so he asked me if I would work on it for him so I did. He told me he didn't really care for the original wood grips on his and he liked my rubber grips so I said if you want I will trade you and call it even up for the trigger work.............. So they are S&W grips and they are in very good+ condition and I still love them!
Take a look at Altamont for wooden grips, you will likely find something you like and they too are very nice!

$750 would be a fair price in Arizona, probably even a better deal in California.

You will love it. I have a 686-1 that I sent back to S&W for the combat revolver package they offered. What a smooth, sweet shooter.

Wow lucky guy. And yes I am looking at Altamont for some woodies. However the stock target grips look so nice.
I would swap my wood off the 586 but I think the new 586 are round butt?

Lol almost impossible to find here behind the iron curtain. And due to roster I can't buy one out of state. Stupid laws.
