Default Any Pachmayr Renegade or G10 Tac Grip Pics - J Frame?

Anyone have a set of the new Pachmayr Renegade Laminate Wood Grips on the J Frame. I usually can't stand Pachmayr grips, but these look kind of cool. I would really like to see some pics. I can't find any good ones online. I also can't believe they don't have better product shots on their website. It's nuts they don't.

Renegade™ Wood Laminate Revolver Grips

I also like the looks of their new G10 grip. But again NO PICS??? Anyone have any?

G10 Tactical Revolver Grips

Anyone have any weights on these grips?

My concern about these grips is not only the size. While I do fear they may be a little too big form a gun that should be kept small. But I really fear they may be heavy. Pachmayr grips are notorious for being VERY HEAVY. Which is fine for a big 40 oz N Frame. But 5 oz grips on a 14 oz gun, is just silly to me. Especially when there are many good 1 oz wood and rubber choices out there.

Well I answered part of my own question. Lyman, the company that owns Pachmayr, responded to my email about the weights of the grips. As I suspected they are HEAVY! Well the G10 ones are a little lighter than I thought, but still to heavy for the 13.5 ounce M&P 340 I want to put them on.

I will probably go with a set of laminates from Altamont. Most of them weigh just a touch over 1 ounce.

I will do the conversion for you since they used pounds in the email below:

G10 J Frame = 3 ounces
Renegade Laminates = 4.9 ounces!!!

It makes absolutely no sense to put a pair of 5 ounce grips on a gun that weighs 13.5 ounces WITH the factory grips! The factory grips are 1.1 ozs. So the gun weighs 12.4 ozs. With the Rengades the gun will weigh 17.3 ounces. That's a huge difference! The Rengades weigh over 40% of what the gun actually weighs. That's just silly.

I really liked the looks of those renegade grips, so I hope someone comes forward with a photo of them too. =)

I guess you don't share my fear of heavy grips on light guns

3 oz./4.9 oz. heavy???

Easily compensated by loading with Nerf bullets! Or maybe there's a Charles Atlas gym nearby?

Man, a heavy sigh weighs more.

I personally prefer the Uncle Mikes combat grips but I do think it was way cool that Lyman got back to you so quickly with the correct and very specific information you requested. S&W Uncle Mikes Smith & Wesson Round Butt J Frame Black Soft Rubber Combat Grips

Not to stir the pot but there's no way to compensate for the extra weight even if you used no bullets. A full cylinder of 125 grain magnums weighs in at around 2 ounces. Even if you left it empty you wouldn't compensate for the added weight of the grips. While not a real big deal it doesn't make any sense to spend the extra money for a Scandium framed revolver just to hang a lot of extra weight on it. I gotta add that I don't know how much fun it would be shooting my M&P340 with hard grips on it anyway. The Uncle Mikes work pretty well.

Things can only be considered heavy in relation to something else. When a gun weighs 12 ozs, grips that weigh 5 ozs are very heavy in relation to the gun. Especially when most grips weigh 1 oz. You are adding a lot of unnecessary weight to the gun. So yes heavy. Not heavy as in "oh I can't pick this up".
