At 90% and no box and papers I'd be at $750 to start the negotiation. It's a shooter grade.

I paid $800 privet party this year for my Mountain Backpacker 629-5 in excellent condition with box and papers and original wood grips but I got a deal on it. Think it should have sold for around $1200. I would think a 90% Alaskan would be easily be worth $800.

I saw one at the gun show today. I think it was marked at $1795. I assume the seller will be taking that one back home with him on Sunday.

That's a nice-looking specimen. You lucked-out on that deal. $800 was a more than a reasonable price for this S&W version, good score! Real sweet!

Seemed to be a constant theme at the Greensboro Gun Show this past weekend. I commented to Charlie Sides that most of the people did not get the memo that gun prices have softened.

I think some people either think there is a fool born every minute or just like to show off their guns.
