She is a real beauty that's for sure!! You did a pretty good job with the pics, I agree they are difficult to get pictures to turn out just right, showing the shine nickel has but always end up with too much shine.

Very nice! No need to apologize for the photos, nickel naturally improves the looks of the gun!

saemetric...Hey...that looks like my kitchen floor...and my yellow microfiber cloth. But...that's not my 586. Actually buy those yellow microfiber towels by the bunch. Nothing better for nickel shining. Really nice looking piece you have there. Thanks for sharing pictures. Attached is my favorite S&W. Happens to be 4" version of yours.

Hey saemetric-used to live in EP. Passed through Deming hauling big Detroit engines to the copper mines in Hurley and Silver City. Also went to the U-Bar Ranch to pick up pump engines. Stopped for gas near Columbus at a saloon run by an old woman. The bar was tar top with coins stuck in it. This was in the late 70's. Finally made it back to civilization. Hope you will too.

What do you guys like to use to polish your Nickel when it needs it or you just feel like it? I've had great results with MAAS. Totaly agree on the Microfiber towels.
Beautiful pieces - wow.

I use Flitz when needed, but that's really only when first purchased. After that, I keep it in good condition so that it doesn't need frequent or future polishing treatments. You can only polish nickel so much before you fudge things up. Other people use Mother's Mag polish too, but I don't.
This is also why I currently own 0 nickel guns. When it comes to actually duty use, nickel isn't a good option unless along the coast or other high humidity locales. Since I'm not in those locations, good old original bluing is my finish of choice. Plus, bluing looks so much better with high edge wear versus nickel which sets you up for chipping/flaking.
