Default Anyone Put a Red Dot Sight on a 325TR?

I just got a 325 TR for range shooting and home defense. I am considering putting a redot sight on it. The Vortex Venom 6 MOA red dot has caught my eye.

Has anyone else put a red dot on their 325 TR? If so which sight? Also what top rail did you use?

Thanks!

I just checked out the 325TR on the S&W website -- that is a slick looking critter.

I think it is a K frame, right?

I like this dot setup on my 617 K frame. I am particularly fond of the mount
The Venom fits on the same mount.

I have a Burris FF3 that I attach to my drilled and tapped revolvers using the reflex mount manufactured and sold by forum member revolver ph.
FS: Reflex Sight Mounts for Smith & Wesson Revolvers

I use it only to test my reloads then put the original S&W rear sight back on.

Pictured below is the Burris FF3,Raptor Engineering Mount and my 2 1/2" 686-4

324 TR is an N frame but has the same 3 hole mounts as K/L frames.

Which red dot sight is that?

That is an el cheapo $50 vector optics sphinx from amazon. They work OK but there is a trick or two to make the battery connection more robust.

That 617 now wears a Leupold Delta point Pro.

Thanks for correction on N frame.

Yes my mounts fit L, K, N and X frames.

Back when the 325TR in 45 came out a bit back it had a railed section under the bbl. I bought 7 from buds gunshop as well as 7 green viridian lasers. I mounted a green viridian on each gun and placed each pair in a hidden biometric safe in each room of my home so that a weapon would be within easy reach no matter what room we happened to be in.

As for mounting a red dot? Never crossed my mind too do that.

I just received a Vortex Venom 3 MOA red dot and a Allchin Mini STS Scope Mount for my 325 TR. I will mount it up tomorrow and check it out. I report back with comments after I shoot it.
