Default N Frame grip question

I have these targets I want to put on my 28 square butt that I thought were N frame. Do I have the right grips? They hit the trigger guard when I line up the pin and I am reluctant to force them see pic.

Appears that what you have are K Frame stocks.
They will not work on your N Frame.

Those are definitely "N" stocks! They just need a bit of fitting to relieve the interference with the trigger guard. Not as unusual a situation as you might think.

I believe K frame targets will more often than not fit an N frame.
Not perfectly,..leaving an 1/8 inch of grip frame showing at the top of the grip "ears"; I think the area is called, but you see Ks mistakenly on N frames fairly often.
Not sure how well they, (Ks) will hold up under recoil, but I think just fine.
The last "pre 27" I bought had an incorrect set of target K frame grips; but I fitted with correct diamond magnas now.

As for target stocks touching the back of the trigger guard,or very close, that is the way they all fit.

These are K-frame stocks. Hard to tell with the later style stocks which don't have the washers, but to my trained eye these a K's.

Note to self,,,,

When I change out grips I put the originals in the box or plastic case with the gun.

67ray could settle these N vs K opinions quickly if he would post a picture of the grip panel, (left side), that did go on completely.
