Default TRR8 front sight installation?

Ok, this job is getting the better of me, and a big hammer is looking seductive right now.

I have taken the old sight out, that was easy, and that is the point where all the installation guides stop.

Nobody talks about how to get the new sight IN!

I am trying to install a hi-viz, and the sight is too long to try and catch the base on the plunger, but if I use a tool to push the plunger in, then I cannot catch the end of the base around the end of the plunger because the tool is in the way.

Everyone says this job is easy, so I must be missing something. So any help, or any videos would be greatly appreciated.

Some are a pain to get in. I assume the one you took out goes in okay?

If so use it as a guide. Some replacements are a smidge too wide or long & require a little tweeking. Use a caliper to determine where you need to touch it up. File a little bit & recheck it.

Some of the guns seem to have very hard springs that make installation hard also.

I'm assuming you removed the pin. And the plunger is in the way.
You can stick a small punch or equivalent to compress the plunger enough to sneak the sight in.....
